Toyama is renowned as Japan's leading center for contemporary glass art. Home to the country's first and only public institution dedicated to glass art education, the region supports a vibrant community of more than 100 professional glass artists. Each pair of guests is accompanied by two professional glass artists who guide them through every stage of the creative process.
The experience begins with sketching your design, followed byselecting colors. You will then move into the hot shop to create your glass, experiencing authentic glassblowing techniques with support from the artists. Then, you will sign a custom paulownia wood box using traditional Japanese calligraphy brushes and select a furoshiki wrapping cloth. Your finished glass will be delivered the following day, allowing you to enjoy sake or wine at dinner from a truly one-of-a-kind piece that you created yourself.
