Experience Description
Ama Hut Experience (Lunch)
Enjoy a freshly grilled seafood lunch prepared by actual ama divers in Osatsu, home to Japan’s largest active ama population. Many of the items on the menu are locally sourced from Osatsu and carefully grilled over a charcoal fire in a rustic ama hut-inspired space.
One-day Ama Diver Tour
Hike to Shofukuji Temple with your guide. The local fishermen and ama divers have visited this temple to pray to Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy, for good catches and safety at sea for centuries.
After the hike, head to the nearby coastal community of Osatsu (home to Japan's largest population of active ama divers) and have a freshly grilled seafood lunch prepared by actual ama divers.
Finish at Mikimoto Pearl Island to learn how pearls form and see a short ama diving demonstration.
Ama Diver Seafood Lunch & Osatsu Village Walking
Visit Osatsu Kamado 'Mae-no-hama' for a chargrilled seafood lunch. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere while local ama divers prepare your meal right before your eyes.
After eating, stroll around the community with the provided guidebook and its map.

Ama Diver Sea Glass Workshop & Beach Clean
Experience a seafood lunch at Osatsu Ama Hut's ""Mae-no-hama"", where real female freedivers skillfully prepare and serve their catch for you.
After lunch, walk around the seaside community of Osatsu with your ama guide, Ayami. See what an actual ama diver's hut looks like, and help keep the local beach and oceans clean with a short beach clean-up.
Later, under the guidance of Ayami, learn how to make a one-of-a-kind accessory made from found sea glass.
